COLONY MURICI The colony Murici appeared in the third stage of the Polish colonization in Paraná. After to good happened experience to the Polish colonization in Curitiba, the government of the Province decided to extend the process to the neighboring municipal district of São José dos Pinhais. They were acquired 2.891 hectares, because there were dispossession difficulties, since almost all the lands about of Curitiba they were private properties. The problems in the hour of the purchase were enormous, because the titles of properties were many confused and it usually appeared more than a proprietor demanding the ownership. This acquired area was divided in 4 colonies: Zacarias, Murici, Inspetor Carvalho and Coronel Accioly. The Colônia Murici was created, in April of 1878, and he understood the lots among the rivers Miringuava and Small and in her 20 families was seated. On June 6, 1878, according to registrations of the Parish of Murici, 60 colonists coming from Galicia arrived (area of Gorlice, Malopolska and Podkarpacie) and Prussia Occidental (area of Starogard, current municipal district of Gdansk). The new immigrants arrived with the English ship Paschoal, in Paranaguá. They went translations to other ship, in which they moored in Porto of Antonina, from where they came in coaches to the plateau curitibean. The date of foundation of the new colony was scheduled on September 21, 1878. A son's of Polish first baptism happened on January 3, with Francisco, son of Wojciech Gottfried and Maria Muzsynska. They were godfathers Wojciech Mikos and Anna Ciulis. The parochial document marks that all, except small Francisco, came from the area of Polish Silesia (at that time under the yoke invader of the Germans). The colony Murici of 876 hectares was divided in 72 lots. Second rising of S. Saporski, in 1893, the population of the Colony belonged to 240 Polish immigrants, 82 born children in Brazil and other 57 people of other nationalities (Brazilian, Italian, Ukrainian). |
