The Polish immigrants began to arrive to Rio Grande do Sul (State in South Brazil) in expressive number starting from 1890, although already in 1877 a group of 400 identified people as Russians arrived in Porto Alegre (Capital's State) coming from Santa Maria da Boca do Monte. Actually they were Polish with Russian passports. Another group had arrived before two years, in 1875, in the Colony Conde d'EU, where today it is Garibaldi's city. This group, with Prussian passport is considered about the initial mark of the Polish immigration in Rio Grande do Sul. Teodor Kraszewski and Jan Danielski with your wives are registered respectively as proprietors of the Lots 105 and 25 and the first Polish of the lands gauchos are considered.

In the end of last century, the unhappy Polish immigrants and being deceived by the government they wanted to return Poland.
